Supported media formats

ChatRaha supports sharing the following media types:

Photos

Opened in-app

• JPG
• JPEG
• PNG
• GIF
• WEBP

Videos

Opened in-app

• MP4
• AVI
• MOV
• WMV

Documents

• PDF (opened in-app)
• DOC / DOCX (opened via system browser)
• XLS / XLSX (opened via system browser)
• PPT / PPTX (opened via system browser)
• TXT (opened via system browser)

Note: In Documents, formats other than PDF are opened via the system browser.

Audio

Opened in-app

• MP3
• WAV
• AAC
• FLAC
• M4A

Other file types

opened via system browser

• ZIP
• RAR
• 7Z
• TAR
• GZ
• PSD

Note: All file types under “Other file types” are opened via the system browser.

• Maximum file size per file: 200MB

If a file exceeds the maximum allowed size, it will not be sent.

Sending media in a chat

To send media:

1. Open an individual or group chat.
2. Tap the File icon.
3. Select the file.
4. Tap Send.

Media storage

Media files are stored:

• In your device storage.
• Or within the app storage (depending on system permissions).

If your device storage is full:

• You may not receive or download new media.
• Messages may fail to send.

Can’t send or download media

If you’re unable to send or receive media:

Check your internet connection

Switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data.

Check storage space

Ensure your device has enough free space.

Check app permissions

Make sure ChatRaha has access to:

• Photos
• Storage
• Camera

You can update permissions in:

Device Settings > Apps > ChatRaha > Permissions

Update the app

Make sure you're using the latest version of ChatRaha.
